Creative Solutions
What can be accomplished best online?
What can be accomplished best in person?
Teacher/educator collaboration
Model: teacher –teacher-librarian
B Classroom (how much in person/ how much online)
Suggestion:
Internal learning: reading, writing, thinking
External learning: communication best with physical presence – so much lots body language, irony, facial expression, pacing, timing – jumping in at right time – nuanced back and forth – not paragraph exchanges
Opinion - In order to be a good online communicator, one must be a good writer – most people aren’t – also must be text-based brain (or use images)
Special skill – communication on line –write guidelines – we are practiced in daily conversation – students learning English are more accomplished in conversation – their writing is awkward
Result – special online language – text message shortcuts to express emotions – superficial and flawed (What does OMG really communicate?)
